Traffic nuisance reduction, works at station Gent Sint-Pieters: continued the next 4 years
In 2007, Traject was commissioned to take care of the reduction of traffic nuisance in the framework of the important redevelopment works of the Ghent main station and its surroundings. This mission has been renewed now for the next 4 years.
The aim of our interventions is to guarantee the access to the station and its surroundings during the works, for all those who have to be there, and to reduce traffic related nuisance for the inhabitants and functions in the area. In each phase of the works, we analyse their impact on mobility for all the target groups, we advise about organization of public space and work out client friendly circulation and signposting plans. This is in consultation with the City of Ghent, the Police, the public transport companies De Lijn and B-Rail, the Flemish road authority and the Information Desk on the redevelopment of the area. This consultation takes place fortnightly during a general meeting which is prepared by Traject.
